Oak bark leather Vide Poche bowl
Crafted in oak bark leather from Devon this bowl will keep wallets purses and trinkets ready for the next day when pockets are emptied at night.
The bowl is hand stitched with wax linen thread and the edges have been waxed and burnished for a smooth enduring finish.
It can also be flat packed for travel with side buttons which have been covered with oak bark leather.

This tannery is the only oak bark tannery in the UK
Oak bark tannage is a long, gentle process that protects the natural fibres of the hide unlike modern tanning methods.
The tannery sources hides locally as a by-product of the meat industry and they are tanned using only oak bark and water for minimal environmental impact.
It takes 14 months to produce each piece of leather using this age old technique, making the leather stronger and more durable over time.
It is full grain leather, not corrected grain, meaning that there will be natural blemishes and stretch marks which add a lovely unique quality to the product.
